EPISODE 27 - Cathy Browne, Photographer

One area of producing that many times is left to last is stills.  Often times by then it's too late to get some of the images that would have made promotions easier. Getting a photographer involved early on is money in your pocket in the end.  Don't overlook this on your next project.

So to go in this direction I have for you an interview with a unique Photographer.  Cathy Browne will make you laugh and show you how overcoming obstacles to follow your passion always pays off.

EPISODE 24 - Paula Hoffmann, Director of Development, Vancouver Web Festival

Paula Hoffmann is one of the people that make our Indie community strong. It was my pleasure to hang out with her again and chat for a while.

Have you ever wondered how animated characters get their voice?  I found out Paula does voice overs.  She shares with us how this works.  We also talk about the last Vancouver Web Fest.  All the deadlines and dates for VWF 2015 are passed on.  You really shouldn't miss it next year.

So sit back and get to know Paula with me.

NEWS - Welcome Jared Cheer and Roland Corkum

I would like to introduce you all to Jared and Roland.  They are joining the team here at Backstage.

Jared Cheer is a new film school graduate.  He is joining us to do Camera Op.  He has a nice Canon DSLR setup.  He's eager to get his name out there and get tons of experience.  That much we can do in spades.....:)

Roland Corkum is a dear friend of mine that has a ton of "on air" experience.  He has had a lot of film industry exposure and a history working for CBC radio.  Being a natural in front of a microphone, we figured he would shine as our News Reporter.

Thanks both of you for coming aboard.
